Garden Spaces

Expanding the nutrition program by creating a school garden, growing our own organic fresh produce. With 300 square meters of underused land, we are building a productive engine for food security.

Faso Deme Bagaou seeks to rehabilitate and enrich this land, transforming it into a highly productive garden capable of supporting the school’s nutritional needs.

Mission and Background

This Programme operates at Bolomakote School in the Bolomakote district of Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. The school currently provides education to 321 students, both boys and girls, serving the local community with a strong commitment to inclusive, accessible, and quality learning.

Our project mission is to expand educational access and support the long-term development by providing essential infrastructure—including nutritious meals and modern sanitation—and by weaving cultural heritage into our curriculum.

By preserving traditional arts, music, and instrumental practices, we empower our students to embrace their history with pride and self-love. We believe that honoring African traditions alongside healthy, safe facilities is the foundation for a confident and inspired next generation.

COMMUNITY PROJECT  FROM BURKINA FASO

FASO DEME BAGAOU

Provide consistent nutrition, modern facilities, and a seamless scholarship journey. By ensuring every student has the necessary resources to thrive in a dignified environment, empowering them to focus entirely on learning and personal growth.

Design foundations to stand the test of time. By transforming our infrastructure and garden spaces into engines of self-sufficiency, we establish a permanent community resource that serves as a reliable bedrock for the generations of tomorrow.

Provide a dedicated space for tradition and the arts. By developing an Arts Program that weaves cultural music and ancestral practices into the curriculum, we help students reconnect with their roots to foster lasting pride and confidence

 Cultivate Cultural Roots & Self-Love

Ensure Sustainable Generational Impact

 Our 3 Pillars /   Objectives

Eliminate Educational Barriers

Overview

Our strategy is to secure the foundation, then build the future by helping to fulfil immediate needs and support health, to boost creativity and stability.

Phase 1: Essential Foundations

(Core Wellness & Infrastructure)

The first initiativebegins by securing the fundamental needs of our community

Morning Nutrition Program

It comprises two parts:

Provision of a healthy meal to every student at the start of the school day, 5 days a week ( served promptly at 8:00 a.m, and organised class-by-class to avoid overcrowding and to maintain order

The creation of a secure food storage unit by renovating an available room. This ensures all supplies are kept secure, organised, and protected from spoilage or external elements.

Toilet & Hygiene Facilities

The school is equipped with basic restroom structures intended for student use. However, these facilities have deteriorated significantly and no longer meet acceptable standards of safety, hygiene, or functionality.

Their current condition renders them unsuitable for daily use and exposes children to serious health and safety risks. We aim to rehabilitate restrooms to meet safety and dignity standards, ensuring a secure environment for all students.

Kitchen construction

Replacing the current outdoor cooking areas with a permanent structure. By building on the available ground space, we will eliminate the impact of wind and rain on open fires, securing the cooking process and preventing schedule interruptions.

Phase 2: Community Ecosystem
(integrated campus projects)

Once our foundation is secure, we will roll out our integrated campus projects.

Arts, Music & Rehearsal Room

Rehearsal Room: An inspiring hub designed to spark creativity and honor African cultural traditions. This room will be designed as an engaging, hands-on space for students to explore the performing arts. The environment will feature vibrant, colourful wall decorations—including theatrical masks that symbolise drama, acting, and comedy—creating an atmosphere that sparks creativity and expression.

It will function as a fully equipped creative arts classroom, stocked with traditional African musical instruments neatly stored on shelves for easy access. Open floor areas will provide ample space for movement, making it ideal for dance, performance activities, and collaborative artistic exploration.

Overall, this space will serve as an inspiring hub where students can immerse themselves in dance, comedy, and music, with a special emphasis on the richness of African cultural traditions

The Project aims to establish a modern facility that provides children with access to technology, like computers, on one side, while also offering traditional resources such as books and manuals on the other side.

Faso Deme Bagaou aims to support children's school education as much as their physical education, which is a crucial part of their school journey by improving the current playground, including creating  football floor.

The major sport already played in Africa and in Bolomakote school is Football.

Sustainable Cultivation

Expanding the nutrition program by creating a school garden, we are transforming 300m2 of underused land into a "productive engine" for food security and hands-on learning.

By rehabilitating this soil, students will engage directly with the land—growing organic produce to support the school’s nutritional needs while mastering the principles of long-term sustainability. This fertile space reduces our reliance on external suppliers and ensures our community is nourished by its own harvest.

Refectory

Volunteer Shelters: To sustain our mission, we will renovate existing rooms into adequate living spaces for volunteers travelling to the field.

Proper housing ensures our team remains safe, comfortable, and functional while supporting the school

A Child Between Worlds

FASO DEME BAGAOU
was founded by  Moussa whose life began between two families, two countries, and two destinies.
Moussa was born on September 21,1982, in the small village of Ouarkuye, near Dédougou, Burkina Faso. His father came from the Dembele family of Burkina Faso, and his mother from the Keita family of Mali — two proud lineages rich in history, artistry, and tradition.
But his birth came under difficult circumstances.

By cultivating its own vegetables, the school will substantially reduce its reliance on external food suppliers, strengthen its food security, and promote long-term sustainability.

Once fully established, this fertile garden will enable the school to consistently provide fresh, home-grown produce for its students.
