Faso Deme Bagaou Charity

FASO DEME BAGAOU  CHARITY  PROJECT  FROM BURKINA FASO TO THE WORLD

Mission Statement and Charity Background:

This charity operates at Bolomakote School, located in the Bolomakote district of Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. The school currently educates 321 students, both boys and girls, across six classes from CP1 to CM2.
Founded in August 1945, Bolomakote School will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2025, marking eight decades of service to the community.

Despite its long-standing contribution to education, the school faces significant challenges, particularly regarding student nutrition. Many children arrive at school without having eaten breakfast, which affects their concentration, energy levels, and capacity to learn.

Consequently, this charity came out of the earth thanks to my own desire to maintain and build on my previous actions and continue on providing food to school children

Faso Deme Bagaou's Objectives:

Achievable through small goals

2. Project Overview

The charity’s first initiative is the implementation of a Morning Nutrition Program that will provide a healthy meal to every student at the start of the school day.

Meals will be served at 8:00 a.m., with distribution organised class-by-class to avoid overcrowding and maintain order.
The program will run five days per week, from Monday to Friday, ensuring consistent nutritional support for all students.

3. Project Objectives -->
Primary Objectives

Improve student nutrition by providing a reliable morning meal.

Enhance academic performance through improved concentration, energy, and attendance.

Reduce absenteeism by encouraging students to come to school regularly.

Support vulnerable families who may struggle to provide their children with a daily breakfast.

Secondary Objectives

Promote healthy eating habits among young learners.

Strengthen the school’s learning environment by ensuring all children begin the day ready to learn.

Build trust and cooperation between the school, families, and the local community.

4. Expected Impact --> COMMUNITY
Short-Term Impact

Students begin the day with improved energy, focus, and motivation.

Teachers observe better behavioral stability and classroom engagement.

Daily attendance improves, especially among the most vulnerable learners.

Long-Term Impact

Significant improvement in academic outcomes across all classes.

Reduction in malnutrition-related symptoms, such as fatigue and difficulty concentrating.

Greater community participation in school activities.

A strengthened foundation for additional development projects (school garden, sanitation, volunteer facilities, etc.).

5. Sustainability Plan --> GOAL TO REACH THE OBJECTIVE

The program is designed to integrate with the charity’s future initiatives, such as:

Creating a school garden to supply fresh produce.

Training staff and community members in basic nutrition and food preparation.

Building local partnerships to support long-term food security.

Conclusion

This Morning Nutrition Program represents a critical first step toward improving the well-being and educational success of the 321 students at Bolomakote School. By ensuring that every child begins the day with a nutritious meal, the charity is not only addressing immediate needs but is also investing in the long-term development of the school and the surrounding community

What work needs to be done!

Food Spaces:

Fasi Deme Bagaou's primary quest is to provide food five days a week to students at the Balamakote school.

Nonetheless,

The room available on the school's land can be a great opportunity for renovation to offer students a refectory.

Garden Spaces:

With more than 300 square meters of available land, the school possesses a significant and underused resource. Faso Deme Bagaou seeks to rehabilitate and enrich this land, transforming it into a highly productive garden capable of supporting the school’s nutritional needs. By cultivating its own vegetables, the school will substantially reduce its reliance on external food suppliers, strengthen its food security, and promote long-term sustainability. Once fully established, this fertile garden will enable the school to consistently provide fresh, home-grown produce for its students.

Toilet Facilities:

The school is equipped with basic restroom structures intended for student use. However, these facilities have deteriorated significantly and no longer meet acceptable standards of safety, hygiene, or functionality. Their current condition renders them unsuitable for daily use and exposes children to serious health and safety risks. Immediate rehabilitation is therefore essential to ensure a clean, secure, and dignified environment for all students.

Rehearsal Room:

This room will be designed as an engaging, hands-on space for students to explore the performing arts. The environment will feature vibrant, colourful wall decorations—including theatrical masks that symbolise drama, acting, and comedy—creating an atmosphere that sparks creativity and expression.

The room will function as a fully equipped creative arts classroom, with traditional African musical instruments neatly stored on shelves for easy access. Open floor areas will provide ample space for movement, making it ideal for dance, performance activities, and collaborative artistic exploration.

Overall, this space will serve as an inspiring hub where students can immerse themselves in dance, comedy, and music, with a special emphasis on the richness of African cultural traditions.

Library:

The charity aims to establish a modern facility that provides children with access to technology, like computers, on one side, while also offering traditional resources such as books and manuals on the other side.

Sport activities:

Faso Deme Bagaou aims to support children's school education as much as their physical education, which is a crucial part of their school journey.

The major sport already played in Africa and in Bolomakote school is Football.

Living Spaces / Shelters:

Faso Deme Bagaou seeks to renovate rooms available on the school's land into adequate houses and living spaces to accommodate its volunteers who travel directly to the field to support its activities.

Establishing proper facilities will ensure a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for volunteers, enabling them to work effectively and sustain their commitment to the charity’s mission.
